Head Baker and owner of Mountain High Pies, Damian Smith started his apprenticeship in Canberra as a baker and pastry cook in 1981. He graduated with honours and after working in a number of Sydney’s top patisseries opened his first shop with his brother in Canberra in 1985.
After twenty years of owning and operating a number of different types of bakeries Damian and his wife Reyna focused their attention on making fresh quality hot pies in the Blue Mountains and in 2006 Mountain High Pies was born in Wentworth Falls. Damian is involved in the day to day running of the business and loves being involved with the local community and providing great hospitality and food to his customers every day! We employ over 30 local people and are always getting great feedback on the quality of service, and of course the food! They are proud to have won the award for ‘Best Gourmet Pie’ in 2015 at the Fine Food Expo with their creative ‘Big Brekky Pie’.
In 2015 renovations commenced to make the pie shop an even more user-friendly experience, with more space to eat in, a great atmosphere and heaps of parking!
